Christmas at Moonlight

Christmas at Moonlight. The view from the lodge (and our condo).

We spent a good mix of outdoor and indoor time. Emma, much to our surprise, was NOT a fan of sledding. She did have a fabulous time however, in the heated outdoor pool. She's a water girl for sure.

She also had a great time with her older cousins. They were wonderful with her!

Emma taught them how to play "Ring Around the Rosie"- an old favorite.

Pops got her "in touch" with the Ipod touch. Here she is learning colors and shapes via a kid-monkey application. She loves the I-touch; as do we all. Nice job Steve Jobs.

I was going to give away the Mr. Potatohead as a white elephant at Sid's hospital xmas party. But, Sid wouldn't hear of it. So, it goes to Emma. I didn't think she was really ready for it. She seems to have taken to it however. She likes to have the come out his head.

Emma also liked this barbie computer. Though, alas it is not hers. It is Calder's. Along with the cousins, she did get a barbie doll. Snorkel barbie. Replete with dolphins that change color in the water and scuba tanks. When snorkel barbie goes swimming her one-piece bathing suit turns into a bikini. Snorkel barbie has a tatoo on her lower torso. Great.

Sid, Mary and I got out for some fantastic early season (December) skiing. It snowed at least 1 inch every day. Here Sid and I are at the Madison Lodge having lunch. Sid has a nice Buddy Holly hair look going on.

Moonlight has a very good day care. Neena and Pops, however, we good sports and took care of Emma quite a bit while mom and dad were out skiing. Thank you Neena and Pops!

"Photo of the Day"- Moonlight Basin

It is December 23rd. Two days before Christmas. It snowed 4-6 inches overnight and into the day. Here are (from left to right) Sid, his sister Mary and me in "The Photo of the Day". - Taken by the head of marketing and snow reporter for Moonlight Basin. We're famous. And the snow was really good. :-)

The Getting of the Christmas Sage - 2009

Emma is an unabashed lover of water. Hot water, cold water, tepid water. She approaches all types with unequivocal enthusiasm.

Not so much for cold weather and snow. Though she was keen to go for a car ride in all her snow clothes and eat Pirate Booty....

Lumberjack Sid. You need BIG biceps for this work.

Despite the cold weather, we were able to bring home the sage and take a few pictures.

But, juuussst barely.

To be fair, it was only a high of 6 degrees here in Bozeman. At the time these pictures were taken, it was about 3pm. The "heat" of the day.

Happy Holidays!

Love, Sid, Emma and E-beth
