A little Nature Walkin'
Dog Days of Summer are almost over. Makes you want to freak out and get outside as much as possible. Earlier in the morning it was pouring rain. By early eve though the sun had come out and it was beautiful.
These pics were taken just south of where I had gone mtn biking earlier in the week. Hyalite Reservoir supplies Bozeman with most of its water. And it is a very fun place to do almost anything and everything out of doors.

Sweet Pea
The Kid's Run. Most of been 1000 kids in this race (plus parents).
Emma made it about 100 yards before all the excitement became too much and she decided it would be more fun to watch others run.
Later that day with her friend Chase. See Steve-o (dad) on left. He gave the meal blessing at our wedding. Remember the "Yahoo!"? That is him. :-)
Chase is a good kid. Emma can tell a good kid from a mile away. This good kid likes pirates and chasing Emma; both of which Emma thought were very fun too.

Before the weather turns (ed)
Hey all,
These pics were taken two days ago. Before Fall had arrived. Which it has. Today it is 50 and raining. Sweet.
Anyway this was my third bike ride of the year. These pics were taken by a very nice "Luna Chic" who by the graciousness of her heart (and obligation) waited for me.
I was a good 10 minutes behind everyone else. I didn't feel that bad. As we started out, I heard one biking pair talk about their trials in training for the Ridge Run. Which is tomorrow. Which is 22 miles of mountain running along the Bridgers. Not for the faint of heart. And not for those who have been biking only twice this summer.
A pick up we passed on the logging road also commented that "I should not feel bad, if he was out there he'd be last too". It was nice that he was trying to make me feel better.
My friend Andrea waited for me too. We were actually waiting for the others as well. We had taken a short cut to the top of the uphill portion of the bike and had arrived first....I love short cuts.
It was a beautiful night up Hyalite (only 10 minutes outside of Bozeman).

A lovely (and fun!) night in Ennis, MT
Sid and I recently has a "night out" at a friend's wedding in Ennis, MT. The weather was turbulent but beautiful. The bride was just beautiful, not turbulent. The groom looked happy. We met a nice couple. The wife's husband loves the Henry's Fork *almost* as much as Sid. :-)
We had a great time and knew we were in trouble when they brought out the pizza and we were still dancing. Turns out it was 1am. Luckily we had a good friend staying the night with Emma and we just had to make it the 5 miles off the dirt road to our hotel.
In addition to the outdoor activities, it is for nights like this with people like this that we live and love Montana!

Summer eves in Bozeman
Summer afternoon visit with the neighbors. Above are Danielle, Tuli and Esmerelda Iris Louise Fisher (now 4 months old).
This is our other neighbor Jane. She is working with Emma on her "Elmo and Rock" coordination exercises.
Jane's feet in flip flops. Emma's feet in Elmo-wear.
A blurry, but sweet picture of Emma. Below are a series of Emma "alone with her thoughts". I think she is thinking about and looking at either an ant or ladybug.
